Boiler Servicing
Gas appliances need regular servicing to ensure your safety, that the appliance is operating efficiently and as a requirement of Gas regulations; which recommend a regular schedule of maintenance is carried out.
Manufacurers also recommend annual servicing and often forms part of their guarantee.
From 2007 it will form part of the home buyers pack to ensure that details of maintenance and repair work are recorded. Indeed Benchmark exisits now, which requires all new appliances installed are properly maintained.
Just as you would service your car and MOT it, gas appliances should also be serviced. Landlords are required to MOT (gas safety check) their appliances and installations BY LAW. It is a recommendation for home owners, remember gas appliances are inherently safe but the safety of your family and home, depend on those safety devices working correctly.
Don't put family and your safety at risk from Carbon monoxide poisoning or dangerous incidents. Ensure you regularly service your gas appliances.
Boiler Repairs
All of our engineers are CORGI registered and carry our computerised Domestic Boiler Encyclopaediaź which contains manuals for all domestic boilers built since 1980. This gives us the best possible information to diagnose faults and carry out repairs correctly and efficiently.
The only way to fix a broken system is to attack the problem logically fixing the obvious faults first and then if this does not work go to the next logical thing until the system works again.
This can be an expensive and frustrating exercise. Firstly there is the diagnosis then there is the first step. This alone probably means some considerable time on site, the ordering of parts and a second visit to install these. If we are lucky the obvious first step works. If not you just have to go on until you have tried and tested everything.
We try our very hardest to deliver the best possible service so that we do not have long and expensive jobs, but sometimes problems are hard to identify and sometimes there are several faults all contributing to a system failure. We often find ourselves as the last port of call when other plumbers have failed to find the faults.
Our heating engineers all carry portable computers with all the installation and service manuals of all the domestic boilers sold in the UK since 1980. This means that they have all the technical literature that is available to help them make their diagnosis. They also have the help line numbers for each manufacturer.
After a time the cheaper boilers suffer corrosion and all boilers begin to fail over the years. If there are several faults on an old boiler or a fault requires expensive work and parts, we recommend a new boiler. We cannot guarantee replacement parts to old boilers will fix the problem permanently, often when boilers start going wrong everything starts to go and it costs more to replace the parts than go for a new boiler.
