Welcome To AW Plumbing Services

There are a number of Grants which may be available to you from both government and private companies. The problem is that the grant system is always changing. What you may claim for one day may not be running the next.

We have provided a number of external links to sites which are kept up to date with the latest developments :-

The Energy Saving Trust is a non-profit organisation, funded both by government and the private sector. They provide impartial information and advice and have a network of advice centres in the UK.

UK Energy Saving Grants is a very informative site advising on some of the grants available including 'Warm Front',

Low Carbon Buildings Programme. This has taken over from the old Clear Skies Scheme.

Even if you are not eligible for any of the above grant schemes you may still saving on your energy bills by following these tips :-
  • Turn your thermostat down. Reducing your room temperature by 1°C could cut your heating bills by up to 10 percent.
  • Is your water too hot? Your cylinder thermostat shouldn't need to be set higher than 60°C/140°F.
  • Close your curtains at dusk to stop heat escaping through the windows.
  • Always turn off the lights when you leave a room.
  • Use energy saving light bulbs. Just one can save you £100 over the lifetime of the bulb - and they last up to 12 times longer than ordinary lightbulbs.
  • Don't leave appliances on standby and remember not to leave appliances on charge unnecessarily.
  • If you're not filling up the washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher, use the half-load or economy programme.
  • Only boil as much water as you need (but remember to cover the elements if you're using an electric kettle).
  • A dripping hot water tap wastes energy and in one week wastes enough hot water to fill half a bath, so fix leaking taps and make sure they're fully turned off!
  • Make sure you are paying the best price for your Gas and Electricity on sites such as USwitch.Com
